MPO stands for Metropolitan Planning Organization. MPO's are voluntary units of government that are responsible for regional transportation planning.

The MPO funds projects associated with transportation planning. The MPO is responsible for programming certain types of funding such as Surface Transportation Program (STP) Funds and public transportation funding.

3. How is the MPO funded?

The MPO is funded through federal allocation funds through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), as well as local funds from the member agencies.

4. What are the member agencies of the LCVMPO?

The five member agencies are: The City of Lewiston, the City of Clarkston, the City of Asotin, Asotin County and Nez Perce County. There are many other agencies that participate in the MPO, and are considered ex-officio members of the MPO.
